An authorized user is any person the main cardholder authorizes to use the credit card. The authorized user is not responsible for repaying the debt to the bank, but is given the right to use the credit card by the owner of the credit card – the main cardholder.
If a person is an authorized user, it does not necessarily mean that the person can spend as much money he or she wants with the credit card without any liability. The authorized user is normally liable to the main cardholder, but never to the bank. So if you are an authorized user, or you want to authorize someone to use your card, remember that you can make agreements if, and on what terms, a person is allowed to use the credit card.
