Founded in 1907 with the support of H.R.H. Prince Mahisara (Minister of Finance), Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) was the first Thai Bank. This was the starting of the Thai banking system which boosted the commercial and economic growth of Thailand. Between 1973 and 1988, SCB introduced an incredible innovation to Thailand. It was the first bank at the time to open an ATM, as well as opening up electronic banking in Thailand. It was also the first company to introduce telephone banking services in the country.
